In this joint statement, several organizations wrote to express their strong concern regarding the decision to release former President Moussa Dadis Camara from serving his sentence for crimes against humanity committed during the September 28, 2009 stadium massacre. The statement called for the pardon to be rescinded, as the release is incompatible with Guinea’s obligations under international law and could amount to a violation of the right of victims to an effective remedy.
