The International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) strongly condemns the European Union (EU) and its Member States’ engagement with the Taliban regarding potential returns of Afghan asylum-seekers to Afghanistan.
FIDH reiterates that any form of dialogue with the Taliban must be contingent on their respect for fundamental human rights.
Ahead of a Taliban delegation’s planned visit to Brussels, FIDH lodged a criminal complaint against its representatives with the Belgian Federal Prosecutor’s Office, demanding their arrest upon arrival on Belgian soil.
